How to read this page

The official Steam news feed contains the launch announcement, and the store listing used for this edition shows an August 24, 2026 release date. This page is a dated source map, not a promise that the current build will never change. Use the patch label shown in the game or Steam before applying an older tip.

Launch context

The launch announcement says the finished game is available on Steam and points players to the final launch trailer. The official store describes the release as a short-session roguelike citybuilder with procedural islands, seven guilds, 21 guild combinations, 120+ buildings, 100+ passive heirlooms, potions, upgrades, 13+ councillors, and ten ranks. Those are product-level anchors; they do not replace patch-specific rules.

Official v1.0.4 notes

The current official update describes a set of fixes and small adjustments:

  • Politician’s guild-reselect effect no longer removes access to neutral buildings or leaves the run in a messy “no guild” state.
  • The reroll information box no longer rapidly grows and shrinks on hover.
  • A quest reward that duplicated an existing blueprint now claims correctly, and another duplicate blueprint no longer always grants only one charge.
  • Stockpile scores correctly from Plateau.
  • Sawmill now triggers Manufacturer.
  • A Plateau can no longer be built on another Plateau.
  • The Guild Contents screen shows the current level.
  • Heirloom and Crystal Ball correctly show week changes in the starting score animation.
  • A Mason’s Brew typo was fixed.

These notes are excellent anchors for updating a guide because they name concrete interactions. They do not, by themselves, explain the complete scoring formula, timing model, or every edge case. If a player report conflicts with them, record the installed version and reproduce the smallest possible case.

Launch-adjacent v1.0.3 notes

The official pre-launch patch notes record that blueprints of the same type would stack, preview scores for Trading Post, Reliquary, Shrine, and Vault were corrected, Charcoal was changed to “campfires burn for 3 times as long,” red/green/gold/blue paint durations were reduced, and some unlock progression numbers were adjusted.

Keep these statements tied to v1.0.3. A later build may preserve, revise, or supersede them, so they should not be copied into a timeless item or progression table without a fresh check.

What stays separate

Older demo notes, creator observations, and player discussions can explain why a question exists, but they should not silently become current official rules. The save system is a useful example: Steam Cloud is official, while in-run save and reload behaviour is reported. The Steam Deck page follows the same boundary: a positive player report is not an official Verified badge.

Update-check routine

  1. Read the newest official note before trusting a community answer.
  2. Write the installed build beside the claim.
  3. Re-test only the named interaction first.
  4. Mark unchanged questions as open instead of assuming the patch answered them.
