Combolands Progression and Unlocks: Evidence Guide
Track the official guild and rank progression signals in Combolands while keeping exact unlock thresholds, rewards, and hidden requirements clearly marked.
Four progression layers to keep separate
The official store says Combolands lets players unlock new guilds, work through ten increasingly challenging ranks, and recruit 13+ city councillors with their own progressions and abilities. A public Steam achievement list cross-checks the ten rank labels and related victory wording. Together, those sources establish the shape of progression without establishing a complete unlock table.
| Layer | Current evidence | Still open |
|---|---|---|
| Guild progression | The official listing says new guilds unlock as you play | Exact level, score, or victory requirement |
| Rank ladder | Ten ranks exist and public labels are cross-checked | Exact threshold, difficulty rule, and reward |
| Councillors | 13+ councillors have their own progressions and abilities | How each progression advances and what it unlocks |
| Run rewards | The game has choices, buildings, items, and upgrades | A complete acquisition and persistence table |
Do not collapse these layers into “win once to unlock everything.” The sources do not support that shortcut.
How to read an unlock screen
When a new option appears after a run, record:
- the installed version and the date;
- the visible rank and difficulty or target;
- the two guilds used and the run outcome;
- the exact unlock or reward text;
- whether the item was available immediately or after returning to a menu;
- a screenshot or recording of the state before and after.
Do not infer that the most recent placement caused the unlock if several state changes happened together. A report can say “this appeared after my run” without claiming “this action is the universal requirement.”
A progression log that stays useful
| Date/build | Run context | Visible change | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-08-26 / example format | Guild pair and rank | Exact text shown | Reported until repeated |
Keep one row per visible change, not one broad summary per session. When a patch changes progression numbers, start a new row instead of overwriting the earlier observation.
The official v1.0.3 notes explicitly say some unlock progression numbers were adjusted. The v1.0.4 notes say the Guild Contents screen now shows the current level. Both are useful update anchors, but neither supplies every threshold.
Use the ranks reference for the public labels and the achievements checklist for achievement-shaped milestones. Keep an unlock report separate from an official rule.
Short answer
Progression is real and has at least guild, rank, and councillor-facing layers. Ten public rank labels are documented, but an exact current threshold, reward, or hidden-condition table is not published in this edition.
